It comes as no surprise that the top selling products for Valentine’s Day include flowers, jewellery, perfume, chocolates, candles and beauty products. Depending on the types of products you sell, you may be able to lure customers in with special offers, discounts, free delivery options or specially themed products. Even free gift wrapping or personalised messages are excellent ways to increase traffic and conversions at this time of year.
Over recent years, the ecommerce industry has done reasonably well over the Valentine’s period and it is worth noting that shoppers will often buy Valentine’s gifts for other family members now and not just their beloved. This denotes a shift in marketing strategies and illustrates that this holiday is evolving to appeal to a much wider audience.
Here at Vertical Plus we work closely with our ecommerce partners to create campaigns throughout the year and for some, Valentine’s Day is one of the key selling opportunities in the first quarter of a new year. We thought this would be a good opportunity to showcase a few of the websites and ecommerce partnerships that we are proud to have built and continue to be a part of.
One of newest ecommerce partners, Just Like Mumma’s joined Vertical Plus in 2021. We launched a brand new website for this mother and daughter duo to showcase their delicious handmade, baked goods and treats. They offer a selection of Valentine’s themed cakes, brownies, biscuits and marshmallows which make the perfect gifts for loved ones. For further Valentine’s gift inspiration you can take a look at their blog, written by one of our inhouse creative writer team.
Party On Balloons joined us in 2017 and have over 20 years of experience supplying high quality, personalised bubble and helium balloons. Their range of printing options is extensive and will cover every occasion imaginable, including weddings, children’s parties and of course Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s is a key selling opportunity for Party On Balloons and as part of their ecommerce partnership with Vertical Plus, we have created a Valentine’s category on their website, written blogs relevant to the occasion and have sent and will continue to send emails in both January and February to approximately 14000+ subscribers promoting their Valentine’s balloon range.
Devon Hampers are a family owned and operated business based at Milford Farm in Lifton, West Devon. Their passion and focus is to deliver delicious, local Devon and Cornwall produce. These carefully selected products are then hand packed into a range of fantastic gift hampers. We formed our ecommerce partnership with Devon Hampers in 2013 and we have seen this brand go from strength to strength. With everything from cream teas, local ciders, ale and pasties and vegan hampers, they really do have something for every occasion and that includes Valentine’s Day Hampers. As part of our ecommerce package, we populated a Valentine’s category on their website to include everything from champagne and chocolates to flowers, cheese and chutney and we have also written Valentine’s blogs, some focusing on Valentine’s Day Hampers to help you celebrate in style.
Our partnership with Tipple Hampers began in 2019. The Tipple Hamper Co is managed by a relatively small family team who have many years of experience in the spirits sector. They offer a vast range of exciting and varied tipple hampers with something to suit everyone’s taste and budget. We have recently created a Valentine’s category for their website and written a blog as part of their Valentine’s campaign which will also add to the website content.
One of our more recent (2020) partnerships is with Flapjackery. Based in Devon, Flapjackery started out by taking their delicious homemade flapjacks to farmers markets up and down the country. Needless to say, their wonderful products were snapped up. They became a little more adventurous and opened their first shop in Tavistock, a second shop in Somerset in 2020 and as they say, the rest is history. We built a new website for them and as part of their Valentine’s campaign we have sent out over 5600 emails, written a blog focusing on Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas For Food Lovers and created a Valentine’s category page to show their fantastic range of special flapjack boxes and confectionery.
